International Conference on Forest Governance under Global Change:Innovation of Science, Technology and Policy – 1st Announcement
All forestry research institutes, universities, forestry administrative authorities, international organizations, and relevant experts and scholars:
Against the backdrop of intensifying global climate change and continuous biodiversity loss, forests act as the Earth’s core carbon sinks and vital ecological barriers. Their sustainable governance is crucial to achieving global climate goals and implementing the UN Sustainable Development Agenda. To further enhance forest carbon sink capacity, optimize multi-functional forest management models, promote the efficient and sustainable utilization of forest biomass resources, seize opportunities for forestry transformation empowered by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and remote sensing, and facilitate interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral and transnational collaborative innovation and cooperation, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), Chinese Academy of Forestry, International Center for Bamboo and Rattan and Nanjing Forestry University will jointly hold the 2026 IUFRO China Event—International Conference on Forest Governance under Global Change: Innovation of Science, Technology and Policy in Beijing in September 2026.
